Ambras Castle in Innsbruck is one of Austria's most beautiful and important sights and one of the top excursion destinations in Tyrol. It is the first museum in the world to be preserved in its original location, inviting visitors on a journey back 450 years.
Physical accessibility
Entrance: Due to the historical building structure and monument protection, not all areas are barrier-free; disabled parking is available nearby
In the building: Most of the exhibition spaces, as well as the shop, ticket office, and café, are wheelchair accessible. The collection of Gothic sculptures and the Paradise Garden are not wheelchair accessible. The Spanish Hall and the Ambras Foyer are accessible via a stairlift. Lifts are available in the Lower and Upper Castles, and there is an accessible restroom in the Lower Castle area accessible from outside (with a Eurokey). Accessible restrooms are available in the Upper Castle.
