The Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw understands and implements accessibility as an integral component of contemporary cultural work – we reported on this. This commitment is also reflected in the program planning. At the beginning of September, the Austrian Cultural Forum is organizing Smart Cities a full-day event on the topic of accessibility in urban areas. The event is titled Inclusive Warsaw 2030 and is created in cooperation with the student group Koło Naukowe Smart City the Warsaw University of Technology (Politechnika Warszawska), the City of Vienna and the Vienna Project Inclusive Vienna 2030.
The event is aimed at experts, people with disabilities, and students of technical disciplines and is intended to serve as a platform for professional exchange and joint discussion on current challenges and solutions in the field of accessibility. The focus will be on topics that have so far often been underrepresented in public discourse – especially digital accessibility. A key focus will be on how digital tools, especially navigation apps for cities, can be designed to be accessible and inclusive.
Inclusive Warsaw 2030 aims to strengthen the dialogue between the cities of Vienna and Warsaw, provide insights into current developments and present approaches to how urban infrastructures and digital resources can be designed in a more sustainable and inclusive way.
