Inclusion through innovation in Vienna – A new study by the Vienna Business Agency

A new study by the Vienna Business Agency provides a comprehensive overview of social innovations with a focus on inclusion, covering fundamental principles as well as supporting organizations and networks. We are delighted that the MuseumsGuide inclusive is included in the category Leisure, culture, public image is represented.

Inclusion is not only a social but also an economic issue: Social innovations create added value and jobs, they promote education and strengthen the participation of all people in all areas of life.

In Vienna, inclusion is a central guiding principle. People are at the heart of economic, social, and technological developments. Progress is understood as benefiting everyone – regardless of origin, age, gender, or disability. The goal is a city that is barrier-free, age-friendly, and socially balanced.

Technological developments support social participation, for example through accessible digital applications, navigation aids or easily understandable communication tools.

Despite economic challenges, inclusion remains a key driver of innovation. Artificial intelligence can break down barriers and create new opportunities – provided it is developed responsibly and without discrimination. Vienna demonstrates that social innovation and technological progress can go hand in hand to create a city for everyone.

The following topics and distinctions form the basis of this report:

  • Focus on the inclusion of people with disabilities
  • Inclusion in education and employment
  • Social inclusion and participation
