The Academy’s art collections – the Gemäldegalerie, Kupferstichkabinett and Glyptothek – house around 1,200 paintings and around 160,000 works on paper from the 14th to the 16th century.

The Albertina houses the world's largest and most important graphic art collection with around 9,000 drawings, prints and paintings from over six centuries, accompanied by temporary exhibitions of art and art history between 1500 and the present.

With the reopening of the former Essl Museum in 2024, the Albertina will make a large part of its collection of contemporary art after 1945 accessible to the public at its new location, including:

At its location in the Künstlerhaus on Karlsplatz, the Albertina has been presenting major exhibitions and solo presentations with a focus on contemporary and modern art since 2020.

The Alpinarium Galtür, an exhibition and documentation center on life in the high alpine region, is a unique kind of experience museum.

Outstanding works of art from the Gothic period testify to the beliefs and worldview of the Middle Ages.

Globally unique finds such as the cult chariot from Strettweg and other archaeological gems from Styria, together with objects from classical antiquity and Egypt, form starting points for existential questions about human existence.

The AzW shows, collects, discusses and researches how architecture and urban development shape daily life.

The center is dedicated to promoting inspiration and participation in social processes through interactive exhibitions, workshops and events.

In a unique post-war modernist building, designed by Karl Schwanzer, Austrian and international art from the 1960s to the latest contemporary trends is shown.

The Benedictine Abbey of Admont, founded in 1074, is the oldest existing monastery in Styria and houses not only the largest monastery library in the world but also what is probably Austria's most contrasting private museum, which extends over three floors and features a variety of collections (ancient art, contemporary art, natural history).
