As part of the "KulturBlick" event series, the Austrian Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired regularly offers special guided tours for blind and visually impaired people to museums and cultural institutions in Vienna. On March 25th, the tour will visit the Pharmacy and Drugstore Museum.
When the profession of druggist became established over 100 years ago, the foundation was laid for the rapid growth of this occupational group. The development of the profession is documented in the Pharmacy and Druggist Museum with approximately 10,000 exhibits and curiosities. The museum houses an original drugstore interior from 1908, the smallest homeopathic pocket pharmacy, which was already in use centuries ago, a collection of herbs, mortars, scales, and storage containers from various eras, interesting cameras with accessories, and an extensive library with over 2,000 specialist books. The herbarium, with more than 500 specimens, holds a special place in the collection.
