Description

The local history and open-air museum mainly displays everyday objects and everyday items as well as historical work and craft tools. In the museum garden, important plants are cultivated in the past, such as Ötztal flax, the sale of which was the most important source of income for many Ötztal farming families until the 19th century. The museum grounds include around 16 historical buildings. They give visitors an insight into simple everyday farming life and sophisticated work processes related to the production of wool, linen, bread, butter, etc.
