Description

The Museum Arbeitswelt in Steyr is a renowned exhibition and cultural center. It is housed in two listed 19th-century factory buildings and features changing exhibitions on the topics of work, society, and contemporary history.

In the building: all publicly accessible areas, lift between exhibition and event areas, barrier-free toilet facilities and cloakrooms

In exhibitions: Various walking aids and portable seating available for loan, symbol-based guidance system, marking of glass doors and pillars, gravel flooring in the TOLLEN OF MEMORY, concrete flooring in all other areas

In easy/simple language: Exhibition texts to read or audios to listen to, some in easy language; there is a brochure in easy language about the STOLLEN DER EREMNERUNG

To listen: The offerings vary from exhibition to exhibition. Some include audio recordings with detailed descriptions of the rooms and content.

In sign language: The offerings vary from exhibition to exhibition; some include videos in sign language.

In Braille and tactile: The offerings vary from exhibition to exhibition. Some exhibits offer orientation maps or information in Braille.

Miscellaneous: Various specially marked exhibition contents for smelling or tactile touching and feeling.

Inclusive art and cultural education

Target group-specific tours: Tours with sign language interpreters can be booked upon request. A public tour with sign language interpreters takes place approximately once a year. Specially trained staff are also available for tours in easy-to-read language.
