Description

A journey through 30,000 years of human history based on archaeological finds from the Stillfried area: weapons and jewelry of Paleolithic hunters, objects from the late Bronze Age castle on the Amber Road and the burial ground, the numerous Roman finds as well as objects from the medieval market place and the princely castle are the main focuses of this journey through time.

Barrier-free accessibility

Entrance: Barrier-free access via a side entrance, leads directly to the cash desk and the shop

Inside the building: All three levels are accessible by lifts for disabled people, a barrier-free toilet is available

In exhibitions: Laminate flooring in the exhibition area, stone floors in the corridors, display cases partially wheelchair accessible, seating available, wheelchair can be borrowed

As audio texts: Audio texts via GROUPY available from 2023, device can be borrowed for a fee

multimedia: Museum cinema with introductory film, videos in the exhibition area, listening stations at special exhibitions

QR-code: QR codes for explanations of specific topics and finds can be freely used via mobile phone
