Museum visit on prescription at the Vorarlberg Museum in Bregenz

We reported on this topic last year: Museum visits have been proven to promote mental and physical health. Scientific studies show that visiting cultural institutions increases well-being and self-esteem, reduces stress, and can slow the progression of diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer's. What has long been a tradition in the English-speaking world is now coming to us for the first time: In a pilot project, the vorarlberg museum in Bregenz is introducing museum visits on prescription for the first time in Austria, with the support of the Vorarlberg Medical Association.

For the pilot phase, the Vorarlberg Museum is providing 1,000 free tickets. These will be distributed to eligible patients via interested doctors. This opens the door to a world full of stories, discoveries, and inspiration – a gentle boost to strengthen mental health.
