Listen to original recordings of eyewitnesses, feel the texture of an animal's fur or a snake's skin, and discover surprising scents. The Museum Niederösterreich invites blind and visually impaired people to specially designed guided tours, where, together with a trained team of guides, they can explore the House of Nature or the current special exhibition "Children of War" in the House of History in depth.

The House of Nature combines the best of a museum and a zoo. The exhibition is arranged according to habitats and offers fascinating insights into the flora and fauna of Lower Austria. During the guided tour, the sense of hearing takes center stage: visitors listen to the sounds of the wild. In addition, the senses of touch and smell are deliberately incorporated to make the different habitats tangible.

The exhibition "Children of War – Growing Up Between 1938 and 1955" focuses on childhood and adolescence before, during, and after the Second World War. It centers on eyewitnesses from diverse backgrounds and their memories. Their personal accounts and original photographs convey the realities of life during this period in a compelling and relatable way.

Dates:
Friday, May 29, 2026, 3:30 p.m.: Guided tour of the House of Nature (no age limit)
Friday, October 2, 2026, 3:30 p.m.: Guided tour of the exhibition „Children of War“ (ages 13 and up)

Cost:
Reduced admission EUR 11.00 + guided tour fee EUR 5.50, 1 accompanying person free

Registration:
anmeldung@museumnoe.at
+43 2742 90 80 90-998

Please provide your name, contact details and the number of accompanying persons when registering.

Guided tours are also available for groups of 10 or more people and school classes at individually arranged times.

A museum that you not only see, but also hear, feel, and smell; a place where history and nature come alive – regardless of sight.
