Description

The Kunsthistorisches Museum is one of the most important museums in the world. Its collections comprise nearly 4 million works of art spanning over 5,000 years. Highlights include objects from ancient Egypt, the treasures of the Kunstkammer (cabinet of art), and paintings by Renaissance and Baroque masters such as Pieter Bruegel and Caravaggio.

In Braille and tactile: Tactile orientation maps, publication for borrowing or purchase: “Seeing things differently together” (texts in Braille optical, haptic and auditory elements)

Miscellaneous: Big Letter Books with object descriptions in large print for special exhibitions

Barrier-free day:
• Tactile tour every 1st Friday of the month
• Guided tour with translation into sign language every second Friday of the month
• Guided tour in simple language every 3rd Friday of the month
• Guided tour for people with dementia or forgetfulness and companions every 4th Friday of the month

Start: 3:00 PM, duration approx. 60 minutes, admission and guided tour free, summer break in July and August

Target group-specific workshops: Workshops for people with dementia or forgetfulness can be booked upon request; inclusive mediation program for young people with and without learning difficulties

Sensory mediation aids: are used in guided tours
