Description
The State Hall of the Austrian National Library is one of the most beautiful historic library rooms in the world. A jewel of secular Baroque architecture, it was commissioned by Emperor Charles VI and today houses 200,000 valuable historical books. The State Hall is regularly used for special exhibitions.
Physical accessibility
Entrance: Entrance via a small step, next to the left side gate at Josefsplatz there is a blue bell if help or a ramp is needed
In the building: Lift, barrier-free toilet facilities in the entrance area, cloakrooms with wheelchair-accessible and marked lockers
In exhibitions: The baroque exhibition showcases in the State Hall are only partially accessible for wheelchair users during special exhibitions.
