Description

The State Hall of the Austrian National Library is one of the most beautiful historic library rooms in the world. A jewel of secular Baroque architecture, it was commissioned by Emperor Charles VI and today houses 200,000 valuable historical books. The State Hall is regularly used for special exhibitions.

  • Entrance: Entrance via a small step, next to the left side gate at Josefsplatz there is a blue bell if help or a ramp is needed
  • In the building: Lift, barrier-free toilet facilities in the entrance area, cloakrooms with wheelchair-accessible and marked lockers
  • In exhibitions: The baroque exhibition showcases in the State Hall are only partially accessible for wheelchair users during special exhibitions.
