Description

Experience the diverse history of Friedensburg Schlaining under the guiding principle "From fortress to Peace Castle"! In the picturesque setting of the castle, visitors are taken on a journey through time via six captivating and interactive exhibitions – from the days of the medieval fortress to its current role as a center of peace.

In the renovated basement, the interactive exhibition "Castle Stories" offers fascinating insights into the castle's history. The exhibition "Burgenland from 1921" provides a concise overview of the political, economic, and cultural development of Burgenland. The "Burgenland Today" section presents a different topic each year from politics, economics, culture, or society. The exhibition "Schlaining and Peace" illuminates the work of the Austrian Centre for Peace from its beginnings to the present day. The former synagogue in Stadtschlaining tells the story of Jewish life in the region.
