Experience the diverse history of Friedensburg Schlaining under the guiding principle "From fortress to Peace Castle"! In the picturesque setting of the castle, visitors are taken on a journey through time via six captivating and interactive exhibitions – from the days of the medieval fortress to its current role as a center of peace.

In the renovated basement, the interactive exhibition "Castle Stories" offers fascinating insights into the castle's history. The exhibition "Burgenland from 1921" provides a concise overview of the political, economic, and cultural development of Burgenland.

The exhibition „"Castle History"“ It leads into the world of the medieval fortress – with insights into architecture, weaponry, and life in the castle. The permanent exhibition „"Burgenland from 1921"“ It illuminates the history of Austria's youngest federal state and showcases its cultural, social and political diversity.

The exhibition is particularly moving. „Tracing the Past: Fragments of Jewish Life in Burgenland“ in the former synagogue of Stadtschlaining. The special exhibition „"Dark Times. Of Perpetrators and the Righteous"“ It addresses the Nazi terror in Burgenland and raises questions about responsibility, courage and humanity.
