The Museo Tiflologico – A unique museum in Madrid

Anyone traveling to Madrid must Museo Tiflológico Visiting is a unique experience, even for people without disabilities. It was specifically designed for blind and visually impaired people. All exhibits are explicitly meant to be explored by touch, whether in the permanent collection or in special exhibitions.

·  Tactile models: Detailed replicas of national and international monuments (e.g., Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, or the Sagrada Familia).

·  Artworks: Paintings, sculptures and textile art created by blind or visually impaired artists.

·  Typhological material: Historical aids, instruments and documents that were used in the history of blind education and communication (e.g. Braille typewriters).

The exhibition rooms offer orientation aids such as beepcons (acoustic orientation signals), haptic maps and information in Braille.

Admission is free.
