The „Quiet Hour“ in WIENXTRA

WIENXTRA Children's Information is the information center for children's culture and family leisure activities in Vienna. The MuseumsGuide is a popular source of information here, especially regarding accessible leisure activities. To ensure everyone has access to the information, there is a "Quiet Hour" when things get too hectic for some.

The WIENXTRA team provides free and comprehensive information about all leisure activities for children up to 13 years old. However, things can get quite hectic in the children's information center. For some people, it becomes too much. They can no longer concentrate on the information in the room, ask questions, or simply feel uncomfortable.

Therefore, there are two days a week (Tue, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. & Thu, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m) one Quiet Hour in the children's information center, where sensory barriers are removed and the space is opened up to sensorily sensitive people.

During this time, everyone in the room must be quiet! Instead of climbing and sliding, there are coloring pages and books to look at. The lights are dimmed and the radio is turned off. Noise-canceling headphones are also available to borrow free of charge from the staff.

The children's information center is wheelchair accessible. More information about the services offered is available [here/on the website/etc.]. here
