Description

In the heart of Hietzing, in a quiet location between residential buildings, stands a two-story neo-Baroque villa set in a spacious garden. Gustav Klimt created some of his most important works here from 1911 until his death in 1918 in a ground-floor garden house, which he used as his studio. Today, the Klimt Villa is a museum whose goal is also to provide a critical perspective on the history of Gustav Klimt.
