Description
The Burgenland State Museum represents the cultural and historical memory of Burgenland, displaying over 8,000 years of human history in this region.
In spring 2025, the Burgenland State Museum began extensive renovation work that will bring the historic building up to date with state-of-the-art technology and make it barrier-free. During the closure period, the museum will be gradually transformed into a modern, inclusive place for encounters and cultural exchange, preserving the region's rich history for future generations and remaining fully accessible to all guests.
In autumn 2027, visitors will be able to experience the exhibits again in the completely renovated museum.
