Description
The World Museum is a place where people and cultures come together in a unique way. It is dedicated to the diversity of humanity and documents Austria's historical relationships with the world through its non-European collections.
Physical accessibility
Entrance: step-free access via platform lift, parking spaces for people with reduced mobility in the short-term parking zone at Heldenplatz
Inside the building: all exhibition areas are step-free via a lift, manually opening glass vestibule doors, lockers, wheelchair-accessible toilets, cafe

Inclusive Art and Culture Education
Target group-specific tours: once a month on Tuesdays, alternating tours for blind people with tactile objects and tours in sign language
Target group-specific workshops: once a month on Thursdays for people with disabilities “It’s about the world” with museum tours, object stories, hands-on objects and creative phases in the studio
Sensory mediation aids: Every first Saturday of the month, between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., the Bright Hours lighting setting is switched on in the permanent exhibition. This lighting setting was developed especially for visually impaired people in collaboration with the Austrian Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
