Pinc Music brings musicians with disabilities to Germany's stages

This Zero Project Awardee demonstrates how digital platforms open up new opportunities for performances and networking for artists with disabilities.

The Berlin-based organization Handiclapped – Kultur Barrierefrei eV has been working for many years to make concerts fully accessible. In 2021, they launched Pinc Music, a digital platform that makes musicians with disabilities from all over Germany visible and connects them with event organizers.

The need is great: It is estimated that there are around 300 inclusive bands in Germany, as well as numerous choirs, DJ teams, and solo artists with disabilities. Nevertheless, many of them lack visibility and professional opportunities to be booked.

Pinc Music brings these talents together in one central location. On the platform, event organizers can research bands and artists, listen to music samples, and contact them directly. High-quality photos, videos, and background stories provide insights into the artistic process and facilitate the planning of inclusive events.

Since its launch, the network has grown significantly: from 24 bands, it expanded to 97 acts with more than 300 musicians by 2024. The platform attracts over 25,000 visitors annually and actively supports event organizers in arranging inclusive concerts. Networking at the Zero Project Conference 2025 has also brought in additional bands, such as Good People Orchestra from Serbia, Firefly Club DJ Collective from Austria, and the Barabás Lörinc Quartet from Hungary.

Furthermore, Handiclapped is developing new projects related to inclusive culture. These include workshop and concert series on music and fashion, as well as digital tools like "Wing Buddy," which connects people with companions for cultural events.

Three aspects make this project special:

Central visibility: Artists with disabilities are presented on a shared platform.

Direct booking options: Organizers can easily find and contact acts.

Growing network: The project connects musicians, event organizers and the music industry.

Project coordinator Thorsten Hesse describes the effect as follows:
„"Inclusive live music connects people, breaks down prejudices and strengthens our society through diversity."“
