How does art navigate us through the treacherousness of the present? How do we navigate art through the shallows of political turmoil?
The VIENNA ART WEEK takes the present seriously in all its contradictions and invites visitors to engage with it without being overwhelmed by it. Perhaps therein lies a form of orientation: not in complacency, but in the ability to endure complexity – and to remain capable of action within it.
The VIENNA ART WEEK sees itself as a shared platform for the Viennese art scene. It is based on a globally unique collaboration between Viennese art institutions, art universities, galleries, independent art spaces, and artists. And it has been doing so for over 20 years.
