
The annual Weeks of Inclusion in Graz. The initiative, which is also joined by numerous Graz museums and cultural institutions, offers the opportunity to demonstrate the broad spectrum of ways in which people with disabilities can be enabled to lead independent lives in society.
All events are free of charge – from guided tours and workshops to consultations for people with and without disabilities.
Many social institutions bring culture and society together and offer artistic training and creative workshops to a wide variety of people. The series “Works of art”, which gives an insight into the work created, has been a great success for many years and is also this year during the Weeks of Inclusion in the Gallery Intermediate Images at the Graz Social Welfare Office. Opening: July 3, 2025, at 6 p.m.
The Painting workshop of Jugend am Werk is both a studio and gallery. Here, artists with disabilities create works of art that fall under the category of "Art Brut." Painting here is not a pastime, but intensive work. During the weeks of inclusion, participants have the opportunity to watch the artists at work. They can also get creative themselves and get tips from experts.
The New Gallery Graz offers tours in simple language and sign language, the Natural History Museum Graz and that Kunsthaus Graz tactile tours, and in Graz Museum During a tour of the exhibition "Democracy, heast!", you can discuss inclusion as a political goal: How inclusive is our democracy? What challenges do blind and visually impaired people face who are politically active? What opportunities does the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities generally offer for greater participation of people with disabilities? Next date: June 30, 4-5:30 p.m.
On 2 and 3 July the Graz Museum Then, in a two-day workshop, you have the opportunity to delve deeper into democracy and participation. In a mix of theory and practice, we'll discuss together how important each individual is to democracy. Each workshop runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Salon Stolz offers an inclusive dance workshop on July 1st, where children and adults with and without disabilities can rediscover movement together.
