Nominate now: Inclusive art innovations for the Zero Project Awards 2026

Each year, the Zero Project recognizes outstanding solutions that reduce barriers for people with disabilities – with a focus on innovation, impact, and scalability. In 2026, the thematic focus will be on accessibility, including barrier-free participation in arts and culture.

The call is aimed at innovators from all countries, sectors, and organizational forms. We are particularly looking for solutions that improve access to art – whether in museums, theaters, concert halls, dance, music, or photography projects. Importantly, the solution must be inclusive, effective, and replicable.

Examples of solutions and areas of impact:

  • Physical accessibility – e.g. through barrier-free museum architecture, step-free access, guidance systems or quiet zones.
  • Information and communication – for example through audio description, subtitling, sign language, easy language or tactile models.
  • Interactive formats – such as tactile tours, digital accessibility, sensory-sensitive programs or hands-on stations.
  • Awareness-raising and staffing – through trained museum staff, cooperation with disability organizations, or inclusive education programs.
  • Artistic participation – through targeted support for artists with disabilities, accessible technology, inclusive curation and professional visibility.

The award offers international recognition and visibility, inclusion in the global Zero Project network, presentation at the “Zero Project Conference” in the UNO City in Vienna and other opportunities to further develop the solutions.

Nominations are possible until 22 June 2025 (11:59 PM). Further information can be found on the website as well as the following resources:
